Title: Accelerating Social Inclusion in our Cities

This event will convene urban leaders and discuss the key issues, constraints and opportunities for collaboration to build inclusive cities. The event is chaired by Dr. David S. Ricketts, Innovation Fellow in TECH, and is intended to be an intense discussion amongst leaders. You will hear from leading experts on the state of the art in smart cities and citizen engagement and inclusion through short format keynote talks.

A panel of leading experts will engage in conversation and share their insights and vision. Finally, an open dialogue with the participants will be led by Dr. Ricketts and together we will define a way forward for cities to make technology work for all people. The outcome of this special event is to make a statement for all cities on the way forward for everyone to build inclusive cities of the future.

Title: Cities Facing Climate Change: Air Quality for their Citizens

The Paris Agreement marks a critical point in the global battle against climate change. Cities are home to more than two-thirds of the world's population and produce more than 75% of the world's GHG emissions, therefore, they are key in the definition of actions that enable the implementation of this agreement.

As seen on the environmental harm in cities, likewise society, the industry, and technologies advance exponentially. In this regard, it is essential to involve local authorities and implement public policies which engage actors in the generation of deep transformation processes and the adoption of more low carbon emissions innovative technologies. C40 Mayors from all around the world are already leaders and engaged in processes.

In the framework of the World Cities Summit Mayors Forum, and as part of the parallel and technical work of the representatives of Latin America in the Regional Workshop on Zero Emissions, this will be a space for C40 mayors to share information about the actions they are taking and the challenges arising from this process.

Title: Facing the challenges of Medellin in Alliance with Singapore

Enterprise Singapore (ESG), in collaboration with Fundacion Metropoli and Medellin Mayor’s office, will be organising a co-located event on the side-lines of the World Cities Mayors Forum. Founder and Honorary President of Fundacion Metropoli, Dr Alfonso Vergara, will present “Diamante Medellin”, a project awarded by the Medellín mayor's office. El Diamante Medellín is a profound diagnosis of the economic and social dynamics existing in the city of Medellín, the metropolitan area, and the adjacent region. Based on this diagnosis, Metropoli Foundation will present a series of recommendations for physical and digital infrastructure projects aimed at boosting the region's economic development in the short and medium term. This follows with a panel discussion on Building the Medellin of Tomorrow Partnering with Singapore, participated by Colombian and Singapore companies and moderated by ESG.
