Mrs Kirsten Brosbøl was appointed Minister for the Environment on 3 February 2014. Mrs Brosbøl is member of the Danish Social Democrats and is former rapporteur for Research and Higher Education as well as former rapporteur for Gender Equality and Food. She has been a member of the Danish Parliament since 2005.
She holds a MSc in Public administration and international development from the University of Roskilde, Denmark and a MA in Contemporary War & Peace Studies from the University of Sussex in the UK.
Mrs Brosbøl has worked in Brussels as political consultant for the Danish Social Democrats in the European Parliament and has furthermore lived in Beirut, Libanon.
Mrs Brosbøl is co-founder and former chairman of the bilateral network for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. The network operates across political interests in the Danish parliament to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights on a national as well as international level.
