Shenzhen Planning & Land Resource Research Center serves as a professional think tank for spatial planning, urban design, and natural resource governance in Shenzhen.

Established in 2008 and affiliated with the Shenzhen Urban Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, the Center operates as a pilot statutory organization. It provides integrated services across spatial planning, urban design, and natural resource management, supporting innovation and evidence-based decision-making in one of China’s most dynamic cities.

As the core research team behind the Urban Index of Shenzhen (UIS), the Center translates Shenzhen’s rapid urbanization into methodologies and public knowledge for more inclusive, smart, and sustainable urban development, while actively seeking global collaboration to co-create forward-looking urban solutions.
